Greylock Lacrosse offers three teams for elementary and middle school boys. The season runs from March through June. Teams practice 2-3 times a week, compete in games against MA, VT, and NY teams, and participate in a few weekend tournaments/jamborees.
10U Team
The ten and under team (typically for kids in grades 2-4) focuses on movement, building technical skills (i.e. throwing and catching), teamwork, and having fun! Participation is open to all, including players with no previous experience. The game format is 7 vs 7 and played on a shorter field with smaller goals.
12U Team
The twelve and under team (typically for kids in grades 5-6) continues to develop agility, quickness, technical skills, movement, and spatial awareness. We move to the larger field and the 10 v 10 format, which necessitates teamwork. On defense we work on positioning and hustle while on offense we emphasize ball and player movement. Participation is open to all, including players with no previous experience (in past years, new players have made remarkable progress and contributions).
15U Team
The fifteen and under team (typically for kids in grades 7-9) helps players transition from developing basic skills at the youth level to preparing for the more competitive high school experience. We hone our technical skills and emphasize a tactical understanding of the game (including teamwork, positioning, passing, and movement). We recognize that players have a wide range of experience levels and we encourage players to find different ways to contribute to a successful team. As always, we emphasize playing hard but also sportsmanship and integrity.
